The complex structures of the Eiffel Tower, the pride of France and one of the most cherished monuments in the world, is not that easy to replicate on paper. Following the step-by-step instructions given below makes your task easier.
How To Draw The Eiffel Tower Step 1
Step 1
- Draw a vertical line, making it as tall as you want your Eiffel Tower to be.
- Now make a long rectangle (as shown in picture 1) at the lower part of the straight line for the base of the first floor. See picture 1 to make two smaller rectangles at either sides of the straight line. These will later be the base of your tower’s legs.
- Join the rectangle drawn for the first floor with those drawn for the bases with two parallel lines on each side (as shown in picture 2).

- Draw another straight line below the long rectangle (picture 3). Make it a double line.
- Next, draw a down facing “C” just below the double line you just made with the arms of the “C” touching the lines you made in step 1 to join the first floor rectangle with the bases.
- See picture 4 to draw another rectangle for the second floor. Make it smaller than the one drawn for the first floor. Join the first floor and second floor rectangles with a scale and pencil as shown in picture 4.

- See picture 5 to draw the upper part of the tower. The small cap-like structure at the top is the outline for the third floor.
- Now it is time to start working on the intricate structures and patterns. Start with the legs of your tower, filling them with the crisscross pattern shown in picture 6. Also, fill the base rectangles with black to make them look more real.

- First carefully erase the vertical line (made in the first step), running down the middle of your drawing. Then work over the first floor rectangle to make the balcony and other metal structures. (Picture 7)
- Also, redo the tower’s arch (the “C” you drew in step 2) as shown in picture 7 to make it more realistic.
- Once the first floor is complete, advance to the second floor – see picture 8 to draw the second floor structure. Make sure to erase all the unnecessary lines once you are done with the fair drawing.

- Next, start working on the outline of the upper part of the tower between the second and third floors. See picture 9 to draw this part. Make sure to use a plastic or wooden scale to keep the lines straight and symmetrical.
Now all that is left to work on are the top-most floor and the tower top. Follow picture 10 to draw these parts and your neat Eiffel Tower picture is done.
