How the Grinch stole Christmas is a question that has been addressed by many films and TV shows over the years, each time adding to the popularity of the iconic cartoon character created by author-illustrator Dr. Seuss. Now, here you will find out how to draw the Grinch through a step-by-step instruction.
Begin the drawing with three circles, one on top of another with the lowest one being the largest. These will help you draw the head and body of the Grinch.
Now see the above picture to add a pointy hat with a brim on top of the uppermost circle. Then, draw two lines adjacent to the lower part of the lowest circle, followed by two thin oval shapes at the end of each line (for the leg and feet).
Check out Picture 3 and draw the lines and circles as shown for the arms, fists and the collar of his red ‘Santa’ suit.
Now, see the above picture and draw the outline of your Grinch’s hairy face over the circle drawn in step 1.
Work on his face to draw the typical evil eyes and the mischievous smile as shown in Picture 5.
Don’t forget to work over the outline of the hat to draw the fair one, making it as fluffy as a Santa hat.
Now, follow Picture 6 and draw Grinch’s arms and the fluffy collar of his Christmas garb.
Check out how the below two circles drawn in step 1 has been joined to draw the body of the Grinch with his hands on his waist.
Now, the only parts left are his lower body and legs. Follow the above picture to work on these.
Fill your Grinch drawing with the characteristic green and red colors to finish the work.
Once you are done, you can take a cut-out of the picture and stick it to your Christmas decorations. How about trying and changing Grinch’s expressions and fine tuning your artistic skills. You can make tiny Grinch pictures showing different emotions instead of working on a single large picture.
