With Christmas approaching fast, it is again time to start looking for simple yet neat holiday themed crafts, handmade Christmas tree hanging instructions and then of course planning your letter to Santa Clause. How about making a neat drawing of one of his reindeers and hanging it in your drawing room. It is not as difficult as it may seem at first. Here are the easy step by step instructions for kids to draw a cute cartoon reindeer.
Begin by drawing a circle for the reindeer’s head and follow it up with a pair of pointed ears. Now make the single facial guideline through the head before drawing another circle, overlapping the first one, for the nozzle.
See the picture and draw the outlines for your reindeer’s neck and a bell collar.
Draw a small line for the back, attached with yet another small oval.
Check how the second line made for the belly completes the outline for the body. Make a small “U” for the upper front leg followed by a cute tail.
Draw a couple of cute dumbbell shapes below the oval made in step 3 for the lower hind legs.
Do the same to complete the outlines for the front legs.
Use the circle and oval made earlier as your guidelines to draw the head of your reindeer.
Now it is time to work on the right ear and the characteristic antler.
Draw the left ear and antler as shown in the picture, followed by the only visible right eye (use the facial guideline made in step 1)
Add the minute details to the outlined bell collar, along with a small bell.
Work over the outlined drawing and draw your reindeer’s back and the right hind leg to make them look more realistic.
Do the same for the two front legs.
Don’t forget to work over the belly area and the left hind leg.
Now all that is left to do is erasing all unnecessary lines from the outlined sketch and giving your drawing the finishing touches, like filling his irises with black and highlighting his hooves.
